Getting Around

Afandou village is situated on the east coast of Rhodes just south of the resort town Faliraki. In afandou and just few steps from our hotel you will find One of the most popular and the longest stretch of pebbly beach on the island, with crystal clear waters. On the beach there is a wide range of water sports, from windsurfing to sea pedals, jet ski and paragliding a small park for children

 

A popular attraction with the old and young , is the blue open air train that will take you from the main square, through the village, along the olive groves, to the exceptional 4 km long beach stretching as far as Kolymbia. On board you will also see the 18 hole golf course which attracts international golf enthusiasts but is also open to the public.

 

the village of Afandou avails shops, restaurants, café bars and pubs catering for everyone's needs during the day and well into the night. The very hospitable locals speak with a characteristic accent and are only too happy to mingle in with their visitors. ,

·         The church of St Mary Katholiki sits on 17th century foundations and possesses some very fine, unique frescoes.

·         An ancient Greek castle ruin, Erimokastro, and some archaeological finds scattered throughout the town.

·         The cave of Kalamonia.

·         Produces superior-quality hand-woven rugs.

·         Close to the unique woodlands of Ephta Pighes (Seven Springs) which combines the best of nature, spring waters, some animal life and a great restaurant in the woods.

 

How to reach the village by car:

From the airport
On leaving the airport exit turn left and follow the bend until you get to the first set of traffic lights at a large crossroad section, just a few metres from the airport.
At this point, turn left for Rhodes, following the directions of the blue/white signboard. Continue on this road as it will take you onto the Rhodes-Lindos National Road. You will eventually arrive at yet another crossroads with traffic lights. Do not turn but continue straight until you reach the third set of traffic lights. Here you will follow the directions that lead you to the Faliraki road, and about 5km further up, you will come to a signboard that directs you to the right for Afandou.

From the harbour
On leaving the harbour turn left and follow the blue/white signboard directions for the Rhodes-Lindos National Road. Once you’re on this main road, you will pass the areas of Asgourou and Koskinou village. Continue straight until you reach Faliraki. At the traffic lights, continue on a straight path for the next 5km until you get to then Afandou turn-off on your right.
